How many Quads or Sleds can a bed deck carry?

Each style of deck can carry up to 2 Quads or Sleds.
How much does a deck cost?
Each deck is competitively priced. Silver Lake Manufacturing does a great job in keeping the cost low - you will not find another deck of equal quality for anywhere near the price. Go to the contact us page to request a price quote.
How does the bed deck attach to my truck?
The bed deck frame is secured to the four corners of your truck bed by a turn buckle and chain.
How much does a bed deck weigh?

Each bed deck weighs approximately 350lbs, which includes the ramp.
How long is the ramp?
The standard ramp is 10 feet long. The Beavertail Sled Deck has a 8 foot long ramp as the tail is 2 feet long.
What is the angle that I will be loading my sled or quad?
The angle will vary depending on where you are loading and the height of your truck. On a flat surface, using a 10 foot ramp, the angle is normally between 30 and 35 degrees.
Will the decks fit all full-size trucks?
The decks are manufactured to fit all Chevrolet, Ford, and Dodge full-size trucks. Custom manufacturing is available for Nissan, Toyota or other lines of full-size truck.
What size truck box will the decks fit?
The decks will fit all short-bed and regular-bed Chevrolet, Ford and Dodge trucks. As long as the box
is 6-feet in length and has 4-feet between the wheel-wells, the universal deck frame will fit your truck.
Unfortunately, any box shorter than 6-feet in length will not allow the frame to fit properly.
Will I need to bolt the frame of the deck into my truck?
Decks manufactured by Silver Lake Manufacturing do not need to be bolted through into your truck frame. They sit inside your box, and are attached via turnbuckles to the corner
anchor hooks of your truck bed. No drilling or alteration of your truck box is necessary!
How do the lights work?
The bed deck will come with wiring. Depending on your truck, a 4-prong harness may be available near your rear bumper. You would need to buy a receiving harness and wire it in - then you are set! Or, you can hard-wire it into your main wiring to your tail lights.
Where can I get a deck?
Please check the availability page to see where Midwest Bed Decks will be next. If you are unable to make an event, see the contact us. Someone will be happy to assist you, so be sure to leave a valid email address and phone number.
Is shipping available if I order a deck?
Because each deck is fully welded, there are not pieces to breakdown which provides a challenge for shipping. At this time, a freight shipping method has not been set up due to
the cost burden on you, the customer.
If shipping isn't available, how do I get my deck?
Midwest Bed Decks makes its way around the Midwest throughout the year. When we are scheduled
to be at an event in a city near you, contact us to pre-order your deck and we can deliver it free
of charge. For people outside of the Midwest, other delivery options are available for a fee - just
give us a call!
Do you offer a hydraulic option?
Hydraulic decks are nice, but require alteration of your truck and can be quite heavy. Silver Lake Manufacturing decks are less weight, easy to take on and off, and still allow you the full benefit of 2 snowmobiles or 2 quads in your truck.
Do you sell used sled decks or ATV decks?
At this time, MBD does not carry any used decks in inventory. Considering how sled decks hold their value and how low prices are for a new one, you might be better off buying new! However, we do occasionally sell our demo decks. Contact us to see if we have any available at a slight discount.
What methods of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, cashiers check, money order or credit card (Visa, Mastercard, or Discover)
Why should I buy a deck rather than an open aluminum trailer?
Ultimately, the decision is up to you. Here are some reasons:
Decks don't:
- require licensing
- require a parking space
- get a flat tire
- jack-knife in slippery conditions
Decks do:
- put more weight on your rear axle for better traction
- make it easier to navigate through parking lots and gas stations
- position your sled(s) out of the way of snow and salt from the road
- give your truck a custom look and allow you to fully use your box for storage
